How To Connect a Wireless Mouse

A wireless mouse can make your desk look more modern and neat by eliminating cords. It can also make using the mouse more comfortable for you. Some wireless mice use USB receivers while others use Bluetooth.

First, remove the cover and insert the battery. The M325 takes a single AA battery. You can see the placeholder for the wireless receiver in the same area.

Replace the cover and plug the wireless receiver into a spare USB port on your computer.

USB Receivers

USB receivers can vary in size. The one shown here is what’s known as a nano receiver, but yours may be larger.

Plug in Receiver

Once the receiver is plugged in (shown above), you should receive notification that the computer has registered the device. If you are using Windows, this will appear on the lower right-hand side of your computer, near the clock.

Download Any Drivers

It may automatically download driver software before you can use the mouse. Once this has completed, your mouse should work. If you find that the pointer is moving too fast or too slow for your liking, you can adjust the speed. To do this, click the Start button and go to the Control Panel.

Adjust the bar below Pointer Speed to make it faster or slower. This is also where you can adjust such things as your pointer trails or whether you want the pointer hidden while you are typing. If you click on the Pointers tab above, you can also select what kind of icon you’d like to have as a pointer.

Make Use of Specific Software if Available

Some mice (such as the Logitech M325 shown in these instructions) download driver software that can further customize your device. For example, this menu allows you to customize buttons, check the battery life, and make use of the company.
